i have a different problem, mine boots from the image very nicely and everything works, then when i run the install, after choosing my location it hangs, im using virtualbox
my laptop was a freebie:
HDD: 4GB
RAM: 32 MB
CPU: 150 MHz Pentium 1
and the thing won't boot from a single CD, i pop one in and wait and nothing happens, so i'm stuck with Win98 until i can get...

well what i mean is, if i pop in a CD that has a .txt file, it opens the text editor
this is just a quick question, is it possible to make it so that if removable media contains a file with a certain extension, it automatically starts a program?

Edit: I did get DSL to boot, but the kernel paniced
puppy really has lower requirments than CrunchBang?, and DSL was my other choice. it won't boot any CDs is my other problem, how (besides getting a new computer) can i get it run?
