    Kubuntu 19.10, Laptop is Dell Inspiron 3542. I assume a memory test for starters or is this a bug ?

    @lvm - thanks you are correct. I removed what I did have, a widget including an application menu so that the desktop was vacant. Then used the command systemsettings5 and there were 2 monitors there....
