Hello,
I'm running a headless server (i.e. X and a window manager are not installed.) and I would like to install the vim-full package.
It seems to be the only way I can get the :syntax...
Problem solved.
I nuked the install and then started fresh. I installed the LAMP bits before I even moved on to the Snort, Oinkmaster and BASE stuff and this time it worked flawlessly.
However,...
I've followed the guide up until the BASE installation, however like you I have run into the problem where it attempts to DOWNLOAD the files when I visit http://localhost/base/
Unfortunately...
I'm not sure of any way to do it with JUST FreeNX, but since FreeNX runs on SSH and SSH provides SCP, you can just fire up an SCP client and then use your SSH connection as an encrypted FTP...
Not by default, only to Comp Sci. students.
If anyone is having problems with FreeNX and getting strange errors about Public Key Auth. failing for user NX, I recently fixed the error by running the command:
sudo passwd -u nx
Apparently...
ASP does it very very easily, just make an html table and populate it with information from ASP and set the response type to an Excel object. I've had to use it for websites at work before.
**Disclaimer: I've used YAST for about 20 minutes to perform tiny changes so far***
I found that what made this seem user friendly was the way it was laid out and orginized. Things were very easy...
I just picked up my spiffy new IBM R51 Thinkpad from my college today.
It came loaded with Suse 9.1 and Windows XP Pro. I haven't had much of a chance to play with Suse but so far it seems very...
I've never had much of a problem with the OOP Paradigm since I've never done much programming that wasn't OOP. I'm accustomed to it now so I'd probably struggle switching to procedural programming...
Now I know this may seem a bit redundant with all of the posts about the strenghts of Python and the comparisons drawn towards Ruby etc but I've found that there is little to no comparison to Java.

Ah thanks. I knew I probably forgot something. Its fixed now :)
For all you veterans this is a piece of cake and isn't worthy of a HOWTO but I figured since so many threads in the security forum are about SSH Dictionary attacks I figured I would write a quick...
The Dillenger Escape Plan - Setting Fire to Sleeping Giants.
Off of the 2004 release "Miss Machine"
Now I'm not sure whether you are talking about automating those tools in a script or something or if you actually want to make your own variant.
If its the latter then (not meaning to sound...
WildTangent, I got mine about 3 days ago and I live in Ontario aswell. I ordered mine around the end of march-mid through april. Expect yours soon! My only regret is not ordering more. I ordered...
Ahhhh. I'm an idiot. Don't mind me :P I saw an error and figured reloading wouldn't help.
I followed the instructions to add backports to my repo list
but I get the following when starting Synaptic.
W: Couldn't stat source package list http://ubuntu-backports.mirrormax.net...
Has anyone tried it yet?

I'm getting 404's for aproximately 9 of the Repisitories using Synaptic. If anyone has a fix I'd love to know it :)

Nevermind. I figured it out by RTFM. Putty has a side program that will do this. Anyone who is interested should check out Public Keys With Putty. Also, the PUTTY docs hint to a possible weakness in...
Great howto. Very easy to follow. I have only one question: You explained how to generate the keypair on two Ubuntu boxes, I'm curious. I run the SSHD at home on my ubuntu box but often connect from...
