    Re: HOWTO: Snort Mysql Base

    Problem solved.

I nuked the install and then started fresh. I installed the LAMP bits before I even moved on to the Snort, Oinkmaster and BASE stuff and this time it worked flawlessly.

    Re: HOWTO: Install FreeNX

I'm not sure of any way to do it with JUST FreeNX, but since FreeNX runs on SSH and SSH provides SCP, you can just fire up an SCP client and then use your SSH connection as an encrypted FTP...

    Re: HOWTO: Install FreeNX

Re: converting text to MS Excel

ASP does it very very easily, just make an html table and populate it with information from ASP and set the response type to an Excel object. I've had to use it for websites at work before.

    Suse 9

I just picked up my spiffy new IBM R51 Thinkpad from my college today.

It came loaded with Suse 9.1 and Windows XP Pro. I haven't had much of a chance to play with Suse but so far it seems very...

Clash of the titans : Java vs. Python

Now I know this may seem a bit redundant with all of the posts about the strenghts of Python and the comparisons drawn towards Ruby etc but I've found that there is little to no comparison to Java.
