  3. [server] Re: Upgrade to 19.04, Lose sshfs Ability

Thanks for the reply, @LHammonds... I upgraded from 18.04 to 18.10, lost all scp and sshfs, but still had ssh. I figured it was a quirk with 18.10, so I upgraded to 19.04.

    I haven't completely...

I have a home server running on an ancient Dell and decided to upgrade to 18.10; I could ssh into the box, but neither scp nor sshfs worked. So, I upgraded to 19.04 and the issue persists. I can ssh...

    Re: Just Cloud, Failed Install

Hmm... that's weird. Are you installing justcloud via a repo or from deb?
  7. [xubuntu] Re: Xubuntu 14.04 freeze/hangs/borks at grub screen during boot (photos)

If she has access to another computer, she could burn a livecd to usb and see if that works; that, at least, would identify if it's an install issue...

Re: Macbook Pro 3,1 and Ubuntu 14

Getting a bootable usb for Mac can be a pita because of what Macs need on it... even using OSX I was never able to get one working, but there are some great tutorials out there to help out.

  10. Re: [CLOSED] Broken UEFI boot after partition cleanup

Hmm... never noticed the broken pics; I don't know if there floating in the webs or not.
  11. Re: Broken UEFI boot after partition cleanup

If you use this guide a walkthrough--although, perhaps you already have--you should be able to get it install, then run boot-repair from a livecd. If you've already tried those steps, could you be a...
  12. [SOLVED] Re: Display drivers (nouveau / nv) for iMac G4 700/800

For me, I couldn't set the refresh rates or it wouldn't work; I did, though, always have to set a default depth. In fact, setting a modeline also left everything "broke."

    rsavage is an...

Re: Macbook Pro 3,1 and Ubuntu 14

Not to be flippant, but the short answer is "maybe." There can be issues with nVidia cards & Linux, but there are plenty of walkthroughs around and really helpful mates on the forum.

[ubuntu] Re: Update and install issues

Have you tried temporarily setting your /etc/apt/sources.list to one of the other mirrors to see if that's the issue?
  16. [xubuntu] Re: Xubuntu 14.04 freeze/hangs/borks at grub screen during boot (photos)

My wife got similar looking visual artifacts after dropping the laptop and cracking the screen... I know that's out-there, but maybe?
  17. [SOLVED] Re: Display drivers (nouveau / nv) for iMac G4 700/800

I'd agree, completely, with este.el.paz; having played with pretty much all releases on my iLamp, precise plays nicer than them all. I've been able to compile the nv driver from source on trusty and...

    [ubuntu] Re: Weird boot issue.

I've had issues with UEFI in the past, but not recently. You can login though, right; you just need to hit "Enter" to get the prompt?

Could you post your entire /etc/default/grub file?
