    I have no idea what WDS is. You can clone anything with dd. It is stupid, so you are expected to be smart. Those disk duplication devices you see - those use dd. Most of the disk cloning software...

    Not sure I understand what you mean, but you can make "images" at different levels with these tools.

    dd.
    partimage.
    clonezilla.
    fsarchiver.

    3rd party? Everything is 3rd party on a Linux...
