Make sure you have installed timidity and freepats.
Then edit the prboom conifguration in your home directory:
cd ~
cd .prboom
gedit prboom.cfg

On Alpha 6 jaunty it worked liked a charm. Now since a few days it is terribly slow. Even without compiz etc.
On intrepid it runs fast.
Jaunty runs on my laptop 1.7 GHz, Nvidia 6100 256MB...

Nearly the same issue here on a fresh intrepid install with all updtes (no backports, nor proposed updates). Two Desktop PCs running with 1024x768 resolution and the free Xorg "radeon" driver.

when running winecfg before, you should switch in the settings to Windows 2000 or WinXP. Then you should choose in the EAC setting the use of the native interface. Restart EAC, then it should work.

I installed the debs from imbrand and whoah 1.4.2 makes a small performance difference to previous. The package works great without complications.
"Working" with Amarok now seems a bit...
Works even better when you uses "startx" instead of "startxfce4" in the ~/.bash_profile
Otherwise I got problems with font savings etc.
