options snd-hda-intel model=thinkpad
at the end of
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
and restarting the computer. ;)

I've looked at some similar threads but they seem related to specific hardware and/or kernel which doesn't apply to me, so I'd be very grateful if I could use some help here to get my built-in...
