Re: Why is the word A$$ on the blocklist?

The word really depends on context.

Unless people are talking about farm animals, there is a good chance that it is being used either as an insult or as a sexual reference.

    Probably a smart...

If it's a wireless interface you are looking for, the interface name should be something like wlan0.

    "ifconfig wlan0 up" ?

    [ubuntu] Re: administrative privileges

    Ok, good point!

Use either a GParted Live or Ubuntu Live cd.

There are lots of screenshots on Google Images. :)

    [ubuntu] Re: administrative privileges

It sound like your hard drive is full and all your partitions are mounted.

You won't be able to resize partitions that you are currently using.

If you get the GParted Live cd, then you can run...

[ubuntu] Re: Jaunty doesn't detect network device

Your wicd configuration should be in /etc/wicd/manager-settings.conf (from what I have read).

Can we have a look at that?

(I haven't used wicd, so I may not the best person to ask, but I do use...

    trigoman05,

Well, it looks like your system recognizes your card, at least. :)

You seem to have a Realtek ethernet card and an Intel wifi.

The problem is probably with your WICD...

    Hi,

Your setup is way more complex than I am used to, so I will probably not be much help to you.

  17. Re: disabled preference and administration how get it back?

I am not sure what your problem is...

But if you are using Gnome, you should be able to pull up the administration and preferences menus with gnome-control-panel.

    [ubuntu] Re: unmount & move /boot & /root

You should probably make a GParted Live cd.

That way you can partition your hard drive without mounting any partitions.

How many partitions are you trying...
