    I think you're right; my system is indeed taking the mick. I did some more googling on the subject, and I was able to determine that shm is mounted, along with tmpfs (?).

    I tried again with cat and got the same results as you; - 2097152 - 33554432 - 4096 - 0.

    /run/shm/ exists and has 4 pulse-shm files in it, each with a different 10 digit number in the name.

    I've had a look at all the files you mentioned, and they're all empty files (0 bytes). Is that right?

    Hi all.

    I've just installed Lubuntu on a pretty ancient PC (Pentium 3 700MHz, 192Mb RAM). My questions are; can I install Wine in Lubuntu and will it work with 192Mb RAM?
