I am on the latest BIOS
and I can't actually figure out why one usb shows in the bios and others don't. I use Etcher for all of my bootable drives so in theory they'd all be the same right?
I'm not sure now that I think about it, it's been so long since I've attempted to use it. I'll double check that and see if it does any thing.
Thanks
Quick update, neither Lubuntu USB even showed up in the BIOS but I randomly decided to plug in the original USB I used for my desktop (Ubuntu 20.04) and THAT showed up. But whenever I tried to boot...
That is possible, I was taking so much information in I couldn't organize it all lol.
I think I'll download 64 and 32-bit versions of Lubuntu and hope that it already has the bootia32.efi, if not...
I'll give that an attempt, I don't think I left the USB drive in there between boots.
And I'll definitely use Lubuntu now that I think about it, this really isn't a very powerful device.
I have a dedicated GPU and most of my experience gaming comes from Windows, often when a lot is going on the CPU temps climb also, maybe it's different in Linux. To be fair I haven't tried all of the...
I recently dug out this older laptop, Windows is completely broken on it, mouse and keyboard don't work at all and nothing I've done has fixed anything. I decided to try Linux to see if that will...
I guess I should put more trust into the information being given, but since my fans don't seems to be doing anything besides spinning at what sounds like minimum I figured something might be wrong. I...
I've finally made my way back to Linux because the games actually work now, well a lot of them do at least.
I tried Googling and looking around the forum (also most of the results I found were...
Hey there,
I wasn't sure exactly where to ask this...I also don't even know if "recompile" is the right way to put it.
It's most likely far beyond my abilities to do this. But even so, I'm...
That's a good idea, I should look into that.
Do you have any ideas on what's commonly used on colleges?
All that free time sure would be nice, but I'm not sure if I would be able to commit...
My current goal is to be going to college for a computer science degree too. I just need to wait until next term to start.
But I guess my current goal for learning to program would be to make a...
Hey,
So I'm curious as to what email accounts people use. Yahoo, Google, Microsoft, Juno (that may be an old one) etc.
Also what do/don't you like about the one you use?
I'm curious because I...
I think that's one issue I'm having with learning to program. I don't really have a clear end goal, both for while I'm working on it and when I get fairly proficient in it.
What would be an example...
Hey there,
So I've been trying to learn to code (Python) for several years now, on and off. But I just can't seem to find the motivation to keep it consistently in my routines because there is...
Thanks for that video. I hadn't run across it for some reason.
I also didn't realize that GNOME is very similar to MATE visually, which is the part I like. The look Ubuntu had when I started using...
Hey,
I wasn't too sure where to post this, but since I'm not actually asking for a way to do it I decided on the Cafe.
How do people port games into Linux to work natively?
I'm a loong way...
Hey,
I'm actually really not sure where to post this question in these forums.
But I'm curious about installing something other than Unity Ubuntu in Crouton. I've seen a few "how-to's" about...
Alright, well I guess I'll just treat it as a learning experience for hardware and installing Ubuntu on an actual desktop.
Hey,
As the title says I'm trying to upgrade an old eMachines tower that I've been given, but I have never built or messed with the internals of a desktop (aside from changing out RAM modules).

I just tried, well figured out how to and then tried, to uninstall the battle.net client and hearthstone...it won't remove hearthstone from the list.
But upon reinstalling the client I got
...
Hey,
So I installed the Battle.net desktop client with Wine, and admittedly I've had very little experience with Wine.
But when I go to start Hearthstone nothing happens at all. I click play, and...
I hadn't run across that in my searches, but I'll give it a shot.
Thanks
Sorry, I don't think I asked the question correctly.
I'm asking if its possible to run a game that you wouldn't normally be able to run in Linux, because it's not supported, through Wine.
