hi,i had the same problem with xubuntu 11.10, all i did was goto,VLC- tools-preferences-audio, then change the output module to alsa audio output. hope this works for you.:D

Yes,most if not all intel chips Etc, are supported as is or very little tweaks needed:popcorn:
lol,no probs, intel drivers are usually 100% supported out the box, so it is usually only tweaks like alsamixer you need to worry about, here at

Hey,it would really be either or with which one,lubuntu is very light weight and will have all the programs required and xubuntu will support all programs but looks a tad nicer,and has some add-ons...

hi people, before i upgraded to 11.04 openarena played in full screen, but after the upgrade it plays with two black bars down the left and right of the screen,i have tried all different resolutions...
after a bit of google reasearch i think there is compatibilaty problems with that model.... they seem to be able to be solved with drivers if you digg around.... not sure but google and/or ubuntu...
