I have just tried your suggestion and even after re-booting, the stuttering is still there.:(

That really gave me hope ...... Oh well! .... Any other suggestion welcome.

OK, I have raised Bug# 575538 on Launchpad and have received an acknowledgment email confirming it with "New" status.

Here's hoping.....

I am not a techie but I believe that the default Wireless Driver was changed between 9.10 and 10.04.

On 9.10 and prior releases, my 3COM 3CRWE154G72 PC Card worked but my MSI Ralink Card didn't....

Redsunz, I have just tried your suggestion to switch to ALSA but the sound is still skipping. It doesn't seem to stutter as much but it is still skipping passages.

I have the same problem and reported it here last week. I have circumvented the problem by switching to an MSI Ralink chipset based PC card which didn't work with releases up to 9.10 but works...

:( I just tried un checking Pulse Audio sound system. Then re-booting. It is still skipping though (perhaps optimistically), I thought it was less severe.

Is this a known problem? If not, how do...

Hi Gruntlips, I wish I could understand the techspeak enough to try one of the options you have described.

I have the same symptoms on a ThinkPad X21 with a clean installation of Lucid 10.04.

Audio stutters with ALL sound including the start-up tune.

I forgot to say that I had to set the Mouse Buttons to 2. Once I did that it suddenly lit up the scroll functions, both vertical and horizontal.

Took the upgrade to Lucid 10.04 last night and now neither the Rhythmbox nor Movie Player will play Sound correctly. The sound stutters and jumps passages.

Anybody else seeing this? :(

\with 10.04 you have to use the GPointing Device Settings tool. You will find it in the Synaptics Package Manager.
