  1. Help creating an appindicator using subprocess

I'm writing an appindicator for Grive, a daemon for syncing Google Drive files. Since I have little programming experience, I decided to write a Python script that calls Grive as a subprocess instead...

[other] Help creating a Docky helper

I'm trying to create a Docky helper for Guayadeque Music Player. I've taken as a base the Rhythmbox helper, changing all the DBus stuff from Rhythmbox to MPRIS1 (that's what Guayadeque uses).

  4. [other] Re: Can't find a file manager that sorts hex-numbered files

There are at least 3 bug reports on this sorting method:

  5. [other] Re: Can't find a file manager that sorts hex-numbered files

How would fixing hex sorting break decimal sorting? o.O
  6. [other] Re: Can't find a file manager that sorts hex-numbered files

If I install it, it will bring dozens of KDE dependencies (remember I'm in Gnome).

Can you show me a screenshot with both Krusader and Nautilus, to see if it's worth installing? All the other fm's...
  7. [other] Re: Can't find a file manager that sorts hex-numbered files

Do you want me to write a new file manager from scratch?? That would take me months, if not years. It's easier to fix a bug from an existing program than writing a new one.
  8. [other] Re: Can't find a file manager that sorts hex-numbered files

I don't want to sound rude, but none of your solutions addresses the REAL problem: the “smart” sorting algorithm. Of course I can change the name of my files (and fix my scripts), but what would...

  10. [other] Re: Can't find a file manager that sorts hex-numbered files

Well, that's a dirty fix, and it can cause me problems with my scripts (because of the spaces).

What I really want to know is if this “feature” is Ubuntu-specific, or Gnome-specific, or that those...

  12. [other] Re: Can't find a file manager that sorts hex-numbered files

This is driving me crazy. I read on other forum that GNOME Commander wasn't affected by this bug, so I installed it, and it still sorts files the wrong way. I'm believing to think this is an...
  13. [other] Can't find a file manager that sorts hex-numbered files

I have some files, named E000.svg, E001.svg, E002.svg, ... E07D.svg, E07E.svg, E07F.svg . When I open them in Nautilus, and choose the option Sort Alphabetically, they are sorted:

    E000.svg...
  14. [SOLVED] Re: Empathy uninstalled, still in Applications menu

This is not a real solution, since you are only hiding it for the current user. I think that's a bug and it should be reported.

    [ubuntu] Re: Indicator applet modification

This has been discussed since Ubuntu Jaunty, when the notification system was changed.

You can remove the package notify-osd and install notification-daemon, that may work, but you will get a...

    Re: Download MySpace MP3

I've confirmed that it works. I'm running Myspace Music Downloader 0.1 in Ubuntu 10.10 Beta.

So I don't know if it doesn't work on Lucid, or it's just you.

You know you're a (language) geek when you go mad when somebody can't differentiate between “you're” and “your”.

Mi native language is Spanish, BTW.

[ubuntu] Re: Guayadeque Music Player Test request

I don't know if somebody already asked for it, but a Docky/AWN helper for Guayadeque would be awesome!! Currently there are only helpers for Rhythmbox, Banshee, and MPD.

It actually works, as of 2010-06-22!!
