  1. Re: Can commercial flagging leave you with little to watch?

    Ian,

I've both a Hauppauge 2250 (hooked to Comcast cable) and an HDHomerun (OTA). Both have 2 tuners. I am not sure which of the 4 tuners this program came in on.

    I only this past weekend...
  2. Can commercial flagging leave you with little to watch?

Since upgrading to 10.0 w/.24 I keep getting these very short programs. Looking at the logs it appears as though the program records and then commercial flagging gets an error and ruins the file. ...
  3. Re: Hauppauge HVR-2250 analog support issues with MythTV

I think that it probably has more problems than just that. I used a quickie (and dirty) command line script to fix-up the files, ala :
    mkdir -p ~/tmp;for f in $(egrep -l...

    Re: Random logoffs

Same here. Originally I did took the dist-upgrade path from 32 bit 10.04 to 10.10 and as soon as I tried to play either live TV or a recording I'd abort out to the login prompt. So then I...

    Re: Myth TV Newbee

I have both an Hauppauge 2250 and a SiliconDust HDHomerun. If you want a "card", then the Hauppauge works well for me (digital only .. but that is what you want). Of the two however I like the...

    Re: what user runs mytharchive?

A quick way is to just do a "ps -ef | egrep myth". You will see the user in the left column. To answer your subject line, I believe that mytharchive runs with the same user as does the...

    Re: mytharchive permissions

I had the same issue. To fix it I did this:

    rm -rf temp
    mkdir temp
    chown <myAccount>.mythtv temp
    chmod 777 temp

    Replace "<myAccount>" with...

    Re: 32bit or 64bit

Is there any advantage to going 64 bit if you are never going to have more than 4G of RAM? In such a case it would seem to me that 32 bit would be a better choice for reasons of going with the...
  15. Re: Problem with getting multiple tuners to work 9.10

It does look like your cards are all being detected. I don't know the 1250, I have a 2250 and I think that is just the duo of the 1250. Mine shows up under /dev/dvb/ like this:

    # ls -l /dev/dvb...
  16. Re: Is there any way to "nail down" the sound card?

It happens if the box is booted after the device is plugged in.
I was just reading in another thread where tdcarlo point out this link, which I think is what you are saying.

    Thanks!
  17. Is there any way to "nail down" the sound card?

This weekend I lost all sound from MythTV (on a fresh install of Mythbuntu 9.10) after I plugged in a Logitech Orbit webcam. Unplug it and the sound works again. It looks like the microphone in the...

    Re: Deleting tuners

It is no better in 9.10. I had 4 tuners, deleted 1 and added it again and now I have 5.
  21. Re: Problem with getting multiple tuners to work 9.10

If you go to where the device is selected and right arrow, do you get another choice?
If not, maybe you can do a "dmesg" and look to see if both tuners are being recognized, loading firmware, etc?
