^^ Thanks bro, it worked.
I want to install the downloaded Wine 1.3.deb to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, but the "install" button is not highlighted on the Ubuntu Software Center. My Ubuntu is on Persistent Live USB.
For some reason,...
Problem considered "solved". Solution is found on this link.

Thanks Alexfish, it worked on my modem too!8)
With your permission, I ought to join this thread.
I have a similar case, though I have a different modem. The drivers were loaded and I can connect to the internet, but it does not retain; I...
I also have an old modem, model WM66 made by Longcheer as detected in Windows. Ubuntu detects it as Omega Technologies 3.5G modem. Good for you it worked in Kubuntu, most probably it will work in...
Thanks for the suggestion. I plan to try the sakis-3g, anytime within the week when I have the right time. I just found out that numerous Ubuntu users have a similar problem come Precise. I am...
What is surprising is that even my old Nokia phone is working out-of-the-box when used as a 3G modem.
I got persistent working on x86 of Ubuntu. I tried it out of curiosity, since I have never used x86 for years.
All of my failed live persistent USB were done on x64. Has anyone got it working on...
I mean, I can create a Mobile Broadband connection (even without a modem on hand). You can plug the modem later and use the connection.
I can add a Mobile Broadband connection, BUT the system cannot see the 3G modem plugged in the USB. Actually I have no problem using this 3G modem on the previous Ubuntu versions. That is what...

What happened to Precise Pangolin? It does not support my 3G modem anymore, where, in 11.10 & below, it works out-of-the-box. Was it done hastily?
Guess what, still persistence does not work in 12.04 LTS using similar procedures. I really doubt if someone really has a Live USB with "working" data persistence.
The wiki does not work.
I...
Thanks for the clarification. I have tried both small size (~150 MB) and large size (2GB) for casper-rw partition still no avail.
I used ext4 for the casper-rw partition. It might be worth trying ext2. I will try if I have time.
That's what I did as per the instruction bro. I manually deleted the casper-rw file before making a casper-rw partition.
Anyway, Ubuntu 12.04 is coming soon, and I might forget 11.10 if all goes...
Still persistence is not working for U 11.10 using method 0, even by making a separate partition (ext4) for casper-rw. I had followed the procedure carefully. In fact, I had a created a working...
I have tried Linux Live USB creator and Universal USB Installer. Cannot have a persistent USB on Oneiric. I have success using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS either way of creating a persistent Live USB. I am...
I have followed you since the previous pages, and what I did above are "extras" since I have enough time yesterday, so while waiting for you until midnight (local time), at least I can do more tests...
You are right; that empty partition is for Data. I wonder where did you get the FAT16 when I haven't formatted it yet.
Actually, since I have plenty of time this morning, I tried at least three...
My long reply is still being composed, so to answer you now, YES, I used Unetbootin. I also tried the Ubuntu Startup Disk creator before - same results. Infinite loop at POST. So using Unetbootin...
@kansasnoob
UPDATE:
Out of curiosity, I followed your procedure again and installed Natty x86 (I have always used x64 in my previous tests) and the Easy BCD worked! The Grub menu appeared after...
@kansasnoob
It did not work. When I select "Neosmart Linux" at startup, it only opens a grub shell.
I was thinking on the first place that Even an Ubuntu ONLY (no Dual Boot) does not boot in...
@kansasnoob,
Thanks for the detailed procedure. I will follow carefully as I can. Will post the results once available. It's 1:00AM in here, so I will try tomorrow.
Actually I've done various...
