The deliberate misspelling of "shut up" as "shaddap" was intended as the clear indicator of humor. This sort of indicator has been accepted in other's posts, and is commonplace in that particular...

Permanence is an illusion. Everything passes, eventually. You shall lose every possession, every loved one, every pet, every friend, and in the end you too shall be no more. Because of this truth,...

  13. Re: Rethinking my childhood if parents were right

If her father was Chuck Norris, the snake would have never ventured that close. If it had been so foolish, it would have died from Norris' "roundhouse glare" from 50m away.

Re: Why is everyone complaining about Karmic.

People complain hardily about Mandriva 2010.0
People are complaining that Fedora 12 isn't ready yet
People complain that their porridge isn't just right.

    In short: People complain.

  22. [SOLVED] Re: I need to create a file on boot and delete it on shutdown

[all variants] Re: proprietary ati video card driver

I can only confirm no flicker while using compiz, and reliability generally. I don't have a second screen, sorry.

AFAIK, ATI has no plans to support these older chip-sets under the new X.

    [ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu 9.10 Problems

Your best bet is to download a copy of the 9.10 install disk and make a fresh install.

You can back up your /home data (assuming it's not on its own partition) from the liveCD session.
