[ubuntu] How to perform a full-drive backup

    Hi, y'all,

I am a backup noob. My idea of backing something up is finding a big enough flash drive and copying the necessary files over.

So I really need to learn now. I'm wiping a Vista laptop...

[ubuntu] Re: i want complete update?

Unfortunately, if your computer is offline, Synaptic does not have access to the latest package lists and you won't be able to upgrade to the latest packages.

Looks like we can safely scrap the notion that the correct source is not enable.

When dealing with the similar issue with adobe-flashplugin, this was the solution:

    Could you post your /etc/apt/sources.list?
  9. [ubuntu] Re: Need to remove BandwidthD - bandwidth monitoring software

I've seen this problem before with flashplugin-installer. That problem was fixed by enabling the Canonical partner repo. Do you know what repo that software came from, and can you (re)enable it?

Have you tried deleting /var/cache/apt/archives/bandwidthd_2.0.1+cvs20090917-3_i386.deb and trying again? The download may be corrupted.
