I'd say Samsung ativ book 9 plus, but I haven't seen it with haswell, just an i7 ivy bridge. They are both 22nm anyway, so who cares, really?
Edit: they are available with haswell too.

I've always thought that Unity is a bad idea. What's wrong with KDE?
KDE was already there, all ready and polished and stable, but noooo..., they needed to break things and reinvent the wheel, maybe...
I'm talking about the repository, not the .iso.
ports.ubuntu.com works well enough sometimes, but it's quirky most of the times, with frequent fluctuations. I don't fancy waiting for a long time for...
It's probably a good idea to give details about your PC.
Also, do you have the same problem on other versions of Ubuntu or other Linux distributions?
As I said in the title, ports.ubuntu.com is slow and I can't find any mirrors, does anyone know any mirror for it? I'm interested in the armhf port, specifically.
Linux is already a great success on tablets and smartphones, it's called Android, I guess you've heard about it. :)
Ubuntu is far too late to jump on that bandwagon, a good time would have been...

2. Samsung

Lots of problems, most of them solvable. The really big problems are some random freezes and kernel panics and lack of graphics...
You just have to take the flash from Chrome OS, it should be /opt/google/chrome/pepper/libpepflashplayer.so
You need to get it to your home folder:

Ubuntu is just as fast as Crouton, or even faster. The RAM may be soldered, but I thought the Acer model had upgradable RAM, you can check. You don't really have anything to lose by trying, Chrome OS...
I think Crouton uses the kernel, drivers and configurations from Chrome OS. You could try to install Ubuntu normally (chrubuntu) and see if your touchpad works fine with that. As far as I'm aware,...

Oddly enough, I don't blame M$ for doing what it does, although I dislike M$ just on principle. :)
I don't fancy the whole Big Brother thing. The USA should calm down before it becomes a sort of...

And then, you'd end up in jail, no harm done, right?

It should know where to boot from. Plus, why does it know most of the times and not every time?
I've seen this issue on two different PCs with Lubuntu 12.10. After GRUB, there is a blinking cursor and nothing else, I have to force a reboot and after that it works fine. This rarely happens, but...
CrunchBang is very stable, because it's based on Debian stable.
You can also try Lubuntu and Xubuntu.
You seem to have a good enough PC for any distro and any desktop environment.
I've made a CD with that alternate image and it worked with no internet connection.
I don't know why it did not work from that USB stick made with unetbootin. Normal images work fine, alternate...
It does not hang in my case, it just gives an error, because it can't connect to the online archive mirror.
