I use the alternate install CD and just install a CLI. Then make some tweaks and run a few small scripts to install the appz that I use.
So I don't really have to remove anything.
I guess that...
My earliest memory is putting the cassette into the tape drive of our Commodore 64 to play hangman.
Typically, minor stuff... and will be back to normal soon...
I hope... :lolflag:

Kool.
I'm kind of that way with Flux. I've got everything just the way I want it and don't want to try and change over to another WM.
Although, having said that, I'll probably give Openbox a go...
What are some of the differences between Flux & Openbox? Is it really that much different than Flux?
Yea it's a solid Window Manager.
But as with most things, it's all in what you need it to do. I've run Gnome, KDE, XForce & Enlightenment at various time in the past, but I keep coming back to...
+1 Fluxbox
I Don't need all the flash. Just need something simple, lightweight & easily customizable.
Well unless you installed Kubuntu, those themes would be much more difficult to get working since the default Desktop Environment for Ubuntu is Gnome.
Try gnome-look.org. You may have more luck...
Just us a blank screen, for when I step away...
At night I just turn off the monitor.
I see a lot of issues/complaints about 64-bit as well. I work in customer service so maybe my view on this is a little different, but if it works and that person didn't have any issues, most aren't...
Everyone has different rigs, knowledge level, application needs and therefore a unique set of challenges & experiences... I think all of us at some point have come across a post about something not...
Admittedly, I haven't tried 64-bit on Gutsy. My experiences were from Edgy & Feisty and there were far more issues and not as many things worked as well.
Eventually I'll give the 64-bit another...
64-Bit CPU & a 32-Bit OS.
I've had some success running a 64-Bit OS, but the time involved to get everything working (at least at the moment, for me) does not offset the minimal performance gains.

I tend to use pico, but vi is a close 2nd.
I use it so that I can have control over my system. It does only what I tell it or install, not what it thinks I want. I know what services are running and why.
A Iogear 8-Port KVM switch form my servers... :guitar:
+1 Fluxbox. I've been using it for years now. I've checked out and play with some of the others, but still seem to always come back to Flux.
I bounce between xterm & eterm personally. Eterm is the one I typically use more often though. I'm not big on eye candy, but having a transparent terminal is kool... :)
My wife has been watching a lot of Food Network lately. :)
Or else I wouldn't have cared that there was actually a difference.
