    I'm running e2fsck on a hard disk with a single partition - data only.
    The normal superblock is corrupted so I ran it with:

    No actually I meant Internet lol

    Thanks for the reply but apt-get only installs whatever version Ubuntu has seen fit to put in the repos, the present version is ancient.
