    Use photorec, it comes with testdisk.

    Is with command line but is not science from other world really...

    With photorec I always recover lost stuff.

    Have you try introducing other CD? Not the blank one, try putting inside a CD with data inside or a music CD and see if it works in graphic mode without using any command.

    Open it with a text editor, I recommend nano, you do it like this (as root or with sudo):



    nano /etc/fstab


    Write the line at the end and then press Ctrl+o to save and then Ctrl+x to close...

    Indeed it doesn't show the device dvd mounted, it's strange it says it's busy.

    Try this, if it says something about permissions use sudo:



    umount /dev/dvd

    First of all, your CD is still inside? All of this commands must be use if the CD is inside. If it was already inside proceed with this:

    Create a directory at /media:



    mkdir...
