Internal speakers works only on laptop independently if you plug in or unplug the headphones, anyway - no sound in headphones
LolZ! I have just commented that 42-nd line and compiled the script, after that internal speakers get mute when inserting headphones

It lasts 2 hours 30 minutes while surfing inet, listening to the inet radio etc...
Wireless on, Brightness 50% etc..

I'm using "Ondemand" as I understand you. Didn't use yet in other OS
It's very strange. I'm using 32bit ubuntu lucid... I doubt that this causes harder battery eating...

Well as Lucid released there were a lot of updates, but these updates have hot fixed a least one of the problem, the battery life is still not good...
As for 64 bit vs. 32 bit I use...
