    [ubuntu] Re: Monitors turning off

There's something about this in the 12.10 bug thread, so might not apply to the OP's problem, but try putting "xset s off" into the terminal (minus the inverted commas).
    That seemingly turns the...

[ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop All Black at 1280x1024

Just to say that I switched back to EXA, but added in the line
Option "AGPSize" "128", and all seems well and the compiz effects are now running as smoothly as they did under 9.04. :)
    And that's on...

    [ubuntu] Re: Screen Resolution problems

If your laptop screen (or monitor) has a resolution of 1024 x 768, then set that in Preferences>Display. Likewise if it's 1440 x 900.

You may not know what the native resolution of your monitor...

[ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop All Black at 1280x1024

Well the technique worked for me as well. :D

I changed from EXA to XAA, and I can now enable the 3D effects using my Radeon 9200SE with 128MB and keep my desktop.

    I think rotating the cube...

    [ubuntu] Re: usplash

I upgraded from Intrepid to Jaunty today, and initially lost the uSplash screen (text only), but that was because I was using a custom one that obviously wasn't compatible with Jaunty.

    I changed...

  14. [ubuntu] Re: Problem with Nvidia Drivers after upgrade to Hardy 8.04
