I'm having trouble with my Yahoo account, but I can't see what's wrong with this -

Interesting. It's exactly this kind of push that Gnome needs.
I hate to make this comparison, but take Explorer as an example. Microsoft aren't afraid to make UI, and to an extent, usability...
Yes. It's stagnating.
Here's a question though... How much of this is to do with Ubuntu, and how much is Gnome the real problem? I prefer Gnome to KDE or any other DE/WM, but it basically hasn't...
No, I don't want a new theme... I'll decide for myself which theme I'll use from the hundreds of options already out there.
As will the rest of us.
But imo Ubuntu needs to do something to...
I had problems with Facebook making my processor max out, causing the site to appear to run really slowly. I tracked the cause down to the latest RC of Flash. Going back to the old Flash 9 solved it...
Also I get this when I close Exaile
File "/usr/share/conkyexaile/conkyExaile.py", line 270, in <module>
conkyexaile.outputData()
File "/usr/share/conkyexaile/conkyExaile.py", line 241, in...
This is nice. I have a problem when there is nothing playing. It will just display "Unknown", which isn't really very nice. Is there a way of making it display nothing at all if Exaile is running?
My conky is fairly simple, but it shows me all I need to know...

This seems like a great idea, but before I go and do something terrible, could someone just look over this for me please?
I've got a single hdd. There's Dell utilty partition (FAT) at the start of...
Another vote here for Ubuntulite. The LXDE desktop is very light on resources, but still very functional. I had it running on an old PII 400mhz pc with 192mb ram and a 6gb hdd. It flew like Ubuntu...
I'm using the old Intel i810 driver, so you can rule out any driver issues.
I'd just like to reiterate that going back to Flash 9 completely solved this for me.
Just a quick update for this...
Facebook is fairly unuseable with NoScript blocking it, but I have found that reverting back to version 9 of Flash has solved this for me.
... So what was good...
After a bit of playing I've found that by using NoScript to block Facebook, Xorg settles back down to a reasonable level.
I just can't visualise how a script-heavy website could have any effect on...
Definatly seeing this too. Facebook cause Xorg to consume all available cpu cycles. Switching to another tab (ubuntuforums for eg) returns Xorg to a reasonable rate again. Tried disabling all my...
In the terminal, type
gedit x360MediaServe.sh
Copy and paste the script as listed, then save and quit.
Riiiiight
So everything in my ~/projectm directory, and everything in /usr/share/projectM
Anywhere else I should look?
Edit: Nevermind. I did
gksudo gnome-search-tool
and searched for...
How to uninstall projectM?
This seems to have worked for me, but I should point out a couple of things...
The first line should read sudo aptitude install libnss3-dev
After the second line I was told that it was also...
Having problems as well. Removed old Pidgin via synaptic, then did the usual ./configure, make, sudo make install. Everything seemed OK, but Pidgin won't launch.
fish@el-crappo-lappo:~$ pidgin...
Apparently not, I've heard that the dev's have done it, but they simply haven't put it into Pidgin yet. Ironing out a few bugs I guess.
So, is Pidgin ever going to appear in Update Manager, or...
Yeah, thanks that worked. I did a bit of googling to try and see what was going wrong. It seems the database (pysql ??) was having trouble reading non-unicode characters, and was just stalling. I...
I like it (certainly more than the current RB icon), but yeah, it does seem a bit "flat" somehow. The concept is good though 8)
I loved Exaile, but for some reason it's not working for me anymore. Just hangs on "loading database...." :(
Back to Rhythmbox then, but it's not a patch on Exaile.
I use it at work, simply because mine's a newish PC which didn't have any office apps on it. My choice would have been for OOo, but it wasn't mine to make.
Anyway, I have to say I've grown to...
