    [ubuntu] Re: autocomplete names pidgin

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I don't know anything about such a feature.
To be honest I don't use pidgin for IRC (only for YM).
xchat seems far more suited for IRC IMHO.

    [ubuntu] Re: autocomplete names pidgin

You mean when you're searching the buddy list for a name?
If yes you just have to hit Ctrl+M and begin typing a name; the matching names will be displayed in a list.

I don't have any experience with it but you could take a look at the OpenMP API.

  4. Re: FIrefox:Great because of the add-ons? Are you sure?

I believe there are lots of very useful add-ons for Firefox.
My two favorites are Firebug and Tamper Data.

  5. [ubuntu] Re: How to enable multicast forwarding on Ubuntu

Go to the file location and type ls -la to find out ownership information and file permissions of mc_forwarding.

  6. [ubuntu] Re: How to enable multicast forwarding on Ubuntu

I don't know how to enable multicast forwarding but if you say you must edit mc_forwarding and it's read-only you should probably edit it as root.

    sudo nano filename

Re: Not enough disk space in wine folder

    Hello!

You can go to Start Menu -> Wine -> Configure Wine -> Drives.
Here you can add drives to Wine - for example map D: to a folder on the 63 GB partition.

[ubuntu] Re: 20 gig ram setup

Both Ubuntu 32 bit and 64 bit will recognize 20 GB of RAM (the 32bit version will achieve this with PAE).
Anyway if your CPU is 64 bit it's best to go with Ubuntu 64 since using 32bit with PAE will...

What modem do you have? You must first try to see why Ubuntu doesn't detect your modem.

    Hello!

As far as I know on debian mysql logs go to syslog - so you might want to check out /var/log/syslog.
