when I added that one to the home folder I didn't see any other one there. Would it be located somewhere else?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Actually it only worked because it removed the splash screen entirely (which I'm assuming was the point). In order for it to boot I have to go in and edit that every time. I actually like having the...
That worked ! Thanks a lot. One thing that I thought might be related to my original problem: After changing the splash and all that other stuff happening, I also noticed that during boot while my...
So I recently changed my splash screen and my X isn't loading. I can't figure out why.. A friend of mine suggested I create a file called xinit.rc with basically a forced start up for x and put it...

This appears to be a common enough issue to point to the ppa being screwed up, however I followed the guide supplied by a fellow here. He offered two possible install options, one being the ppa route...
I have followed this guide, and several others like it (identical to it) and I keep getting hung up at the following step:
sudo apt-get install libreoffice
No matter what I do it comes with the...
So I've been trying to sort out my music library and I have rythmbox, audacious, and jajuk installed. Audacious will find the track info (artist, album, song number, etc) and list it in the player...
overdrank is right, i ran the

I have an acer x193w monitor. Never had any troubles with it and ubuntu (except once when the resolution was doing this same thing but I just needed to update my nvidia driver). I tried to log into...
So I installed jaunty overtop an old jaunty install on an older computer just to have a basic computer for a friend of mine to use. Well it turns out there was important information that I need to...
Taking a programming class and they require the latest java utilities for our programs... I don't understand why. Thanks for the effort though. I'll just upgrade over the weekend.
Yes I did try to do that when you posted it. I enabled partner repositories and even added a repository from http://www.webupd8.org
for java/ jdk 7 and it seems to have installed properly but still...
It seems somehow the java bins have been moved or hidden or something... I'm not exactly sure what's going on with it. Any ideas?
