I was told it was a specific problem with detailed list, and that if the view is set to Icon or List(simple) the problem does not exist.

Thanks I found something that did the trick.. editing /usr/share/gnome/default.session and adding firefox to the list, allowed it to auto start firefox on the live cd.

hello.. what is the function that causes gdm to auto start on the live cd? like you stick the liveCD in.. and it automagikly shifts to window manager. I am using KVM to create my custom liveCD...

however after I did updates this morning.. It seems I no longer have todo this(modprobe -r ehci_hcd).. did they squash this bug?
the only way I have been able to get usb drives to work is to remove the ehci_hcd module.
modprobe -r ehci_hcd
after this I connect the usb drive and vwala.
o right.. I think someone wrote some code that fixes this issue.. if you scan back in this thread you may find the fix. I havnt been able to put any time towards this.. and my drive with my wiki on...

btw.. libstdc is in the repositories.. if you install via apt-get/synaptic you should be able to point mega raid in the right direction during compilation
