Re: What software do you use to build web sites?

I've heard NVU is a good alternative to Dreamweaver.

    Re: space shuttle sims

I'm sure someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can run anything 3D in a virtual machine.
AFAIK that option is not possible

I would guess that getting it to work with wine is...

Re: Backing up my music collection

I hear you, its hard to justify buying new hardware when you already have DVDs. For my purposes it is just easier to have a dedicated HD backup. I also have a bunch of DVD's, but I prefer to use them...

Re: Backing up my music collection

I would suggest the hard disk. No medium is permanent or everlasting, but a hard disk is much easier to deal with than multiple DVDs.

They both have a limited lifespan, but DVDs can be damaged...

    Re: The Great Hockey Debate

All great historic players, tough to make such a list.
    Never can decide with top-tens.

Lemieux is definitely a player I admire more than most. I can see the Moose up there, but even as a Flames...

Re: Examples of a great GUI

I think KDE has some of the best and worst examples of UI's out there. Synchronizing maximum functionality with usability has different results

  10. Re: is it technically illegal to use copyrighted pictures for background on your desk

I think that falls under fair use. Its usually the distribution of such content that is "illegal". The persons hosting the image you downloaded would be in violation.

Of course it isn't black and...

Re: In search of a great MashPotato Recipe

There might be a good write up in Krecipies :)

They are pretty simple though, boil the potatoes, mash 'em, add some milk and butter, and mash 'em some more to desired consistency.

Poll: Re: Does anyone use Konqueror instead of Dolphin?

For fast systems (and even some not-so-fast-ones), I don't think anything beats Konqueror.

Yes! I use it predominantly on a slow machine, and about half the time on my PC, since compiz slows firefox near to a halt.

  16. Re: Where are you, where have you travelled and where would you like to go?

tact, your time down in Antarctica sounds amazing. Canada doesn't commonly get 145 km/h winds, but course its large country. In the far north its probably similar to the far south of the globe....
