  1. Re: Gnome online accounts : No gnome online accounts support found

Did it work in Ubuntu 23.10?

gnome-online-accounts had a major API bump for GNOME 46 so some things that used the old gnome-online-accounts may not work any more.

    There is a project,...

[ubuntu] Re: system monitor extension dependency

Please file a bug against gnome-shell-extensions now. There may be time to get this fixed before the Ubuntu 24.04 LTS release.

    [SOLVED] Re: cannot change fonts

Ctrl+C can't be used for copying in terminals by default for ancient historical reasons. So it's usually Shift+Ctrl+C and Shift+Ctrl+V

[SOLVED] Re: Camera (gnome-snapshot) "No Camera Found"

Did you try larger numbers? Upstream suggested 5 instead of 1.
  6. [ubuntu] Re: how to solve removal of 2nd language during upgrade

    There is another way then.

[SOLVED] Re: Camera (gnome-snapshot) "No Camera Found"

Right, but we're not going to do that for everyone.

There was another workaround in the upstream bug:

    systemctl edit --user wireplumber.service

Add this then save the file and exit:
  8. [SOLVED] Re: Update 08 April broke 2404 development version

I recommend you do a reinstall. It is easier than trying to manually fix missing details especially since you probably aren't aware of all the details you are missing.
  9. [ubuntu] Re: cursors become square shaped when touching the panels

This is https://launchpad.net/bugs/2062377 or at least it's the upstream bug from comment #4

[SOLVED] Re: Camera (gnome-snapshot) "No Camera Found"

I filed https://launchpad.net/bugs/2061687 for one particular issue with Snapshot with a link to the upstream bug/discussion and a simple workaround. We aren't yet sure how to fix the issue.
  11. [ubuntu] Re: how to solve removal of 2nd language during upgrade

Could you file a bug about the translation removal issue? That sounds very unexpected.

For the keyboard shortcuts, open Settings > Keyboard > View and Customize Shortcuts. You can search in this...

I mean I personally don't have time to help with implementing new filesystem details as I'm quite busy with other desktop responsibilities. The Ubuntu Desktop Installer team is small and have been...

[SOLVED] Re: Camera (gnome-snapshot) "No Camera Found"

    Yay!

I still have something like a race issue with wireplumber on my computers. https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/pipewire/-/issues/3960

[SOLVED] Re: Camera (gnome-snapshot) "No Camera Found"

We should be getting a new pipewire version soon that improves some issues with webcams, but it still doesn't completely fix my issues.

You may want to report your issues upstream to either...
  17. Re: libreoffice window cannot be focused when maximised

Personally I find that there are some odd bugs when Ubuntu's tiling extension is turned on. You can turn it off in the Settings app > Ubuntu Desktop > Enhanced Tiling has its own off switch.

In the Settings app, is Network > Proxy turned off? Ideally it is off.
  19. Re: Update/upgrade removes hundreds of packages?

Yes, gnome-shell & mutter need to migrate to clear up those mentioned uninstallable packages.
  20. Re: Update/upgrade removes hundreds of packages?

@fthx Could you report those bugs?

Yes, most of the transitions are done now. But there are still a few uninstallable packages.
  21. Re: Update/upgrade removes hundreds of packages?

Yes, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS is in the middle of the largest library transition Ubuntu has ever experienced. There is often temporary uninstallability with large transitions. This time is worse and then...

  23. Re: freecad and adwaita full icon set are gone?

Many icons were dropped. The GNOME designers expect app developers to bundle their own icons now.

This isn't new to GNOME 46. Ubuntu just had been using an old version of adwaita-icon-theme before...

[SOLVED] Re: gnome flashback broken shortcuts

Please file a bug. But not many people are maintaining GNOME Flashback now so it could take a while for it to get fixed.

It might be interesting to see if any Ubuntu desktop flavors are also...
  25. Re: freecad and adwaita full icon set are gone?

Yes, but also there aren't nearly as many Adwaita icons as there used to be. Ubuntu 24.04 LTS's adwaita-icon-theme package with every upstream icon is a smaller file than Ubuntu's streamlined package...
