  6. Re: 6 months ... is it enaugh to make a good release?

Ubuntu seems to have more then your typical amount of fanboys that produce a lot of "noise" on these forums and they will always say how good ubuntu is regardless of whether its really the case or...

Re: Linux From Scratch good for learning?

Fedora is another distro that you can learn a lot from.

Ubuntu has advantages, but it tries really hard to protect the user from shooting themselves in the foot and just working from the get go,...

    [ubuntu] Re: ubuntu/mac hard drive

Macs can read/write to FAT32 as well. One word about FAT32, they have a maximum file size (4 or 2 gig, I forget) and it lacks the ability to maintain file permissions.
  17. Poll: Re: Has Ubuntu's reputation been damaged by the release of 9.10

True, but given the choice, I'd rather have a stable system then a faster booting computer.
  18. Poll: Re: Has Ubuntu's reputation been damaged by the release of 9.10

I voted a little, but canonical needs to be careful with new releases of ubuntu. They need to focus on quality not just features. Besides some of the features touted in 9.10 are questionable. ...

  23. Re: Why is Linux distro's market share below Mac OS?

One large reason is people who buy macs, do so not just for the hardware but the OS and software. Why spend more money on hardware (apple premium) only to run a free OS.
