    [ubuntu] Re: Hardy freezes

Wow I hadn't heard about that. Well it's good news to me.

You seem to be following this a bit.

How far has that other graphics card gotten that was going to be part open source?

    Do you...
  5. [ubuntu] Re: Help me understand how the decision is made.

I think some increased pro-activeness is what's needed. Xorg has some security fixes. It seems that we're in a reactive model instead of pro-active.
  6. [ubuntu] Help me understand how the decision is made.

I am new to Ubuntu and still having trouble understanding how versions are selected for inclusion into a release. For example Xorg has updates that seem important since Sept. 5 2007. But apparently...

If you have nothing to hide then please post your home address and all your personal information including accounts, etc. so we can all see it.

If not then what are you trying to hide?

[other] Re: Laptop seizure & whole disk encryption?

Put all your data, encrypted, on the net somewhere.
Remove all your data from laptop.
    Leave laptop as-is.
When you get where you're going download it and go.

For fun, create a directory with...

    [ubuntu] Re: Hardy freezes

I even tried <ALT> <CTL> <SYSRQ>. Amazingly it did nothing. I had to power off and power on. Once it came back up the <ALT> <CTL> <SYSRQ> events were logged.

Had a lockup just a little while ago....

[ubuntu] How to add command line options to Xorg?

Have looked all over on my ubunutu box and can't find where to add command line options. Tried xserverrc but it's not picking them up.
Looked at gdm.conf, etc. grep'd all over /etc, no joy.
