I extracted a Windows ISO to a NTFS partition on a Persistent USB made using mkusb....
  4. Re: How to limit LiveCD persistency to home/data only and have an immutable system?

"casper-rw" was changed to "writable" in 20.04.
    "home-rw" is still "home-rw"
The only thing in the home-rw partition is the users home directory.
The user is "ubuntu" until changed in...
  5. Re: How I can Run Ubuntu and Wondows Simultaneously?

You can run Ubuntu in Microsoft's very own virtualization product, Hyper-V:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/virtualization/hyper-v-on-windows/about/

VirtualBox will not run on a computer that...

  7. Re: how to create a portable ubuntu usb?

If you want to drag and drop ISO images onto your USB have a look at Ventoy: https://www.ventoy.net/en/index.html It will also support persistence for Debian based OS.

I prefer mkusb for a working...

    [ubuntu] Re: Live mode persistence

I agree mostly, but a Full install USB should boot on both BIOS and UEFI mode computers and include a data partition that works on both Windows and Linux machines. This can get a little complicated...

  10. [ubuntu] Re: How to make a Windows bootable USB installer?

I believe that a Rufus Windows installer is UEFI only.
It refused to boot Windows Installer on my old PC.
Of course this is probably okay for those with a UEFI computer.
  11. [ubuntu] Re: How to make a Windows bootable USB installer?

Mkusb-plug worked the best for me.
    Mkusb-Dus also worked.
    WoeUSB did not work.
    Dd did not work.
Ventoy did not work in BIOS mode.

    Re: Ubutu live USB "fingerprinted"?

    @sudodus:
I think that any Live USB made using Etcher, dd, etc, and the same ISO, on laptop A will have the same UUID for the system partition.

    sudo add-apt-repository universe
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mkusb/ppa
    sudo apt update
    sudo apt install mkusb
    sudo apt install usb-pack-efi

I think mkusb is the best USB maker.

    Re: Ubutu live USB "fingerprinted"?

Depends how you make the Live USB, I think.

All the Live USB's flashed using Etcher, (or dd for example), from a single ISO file on laptop A will have the same UUID's.
Not sure if this would hold...

  17. [SOLVED] Re: Must a 20.04 live-boot installer be UEFI/GPT to create a UEFI/GPT SSD install?

Does the USB currently boot to a GRUB menu?
If so then you can put your ISO on your ext4 sdc partition and add a menuitem for it in sdc1's grub.cfg.
