I cannot speak for everyone else, but I have the same problem and I have nvidia, and if you run the commands to purge and remove the nvidia drivers the problem goes away and you can login into...

Ok, so i ran the purge nvidia command and now I can login.

When I went to open a browser the system crashed.

I rebooted and ran these commands from the command line to up nvidia drivers:
sudo...

So assuming the purging nvidia command is the problem, is there something i can do to make sure the nvidia drivers are the correct drivers and are up to date ?

I changed the Channel in the router from 10 to Channel 1 and i changed Channel Width from 20MHz to Auto, Mode is set to 11bgn mixed.
I then rebooted the router and i have fast speeds now. not sure...
