The cause is found. I should have installed xfonts-100dpi but I installed xfonts-100dpi-transcoded instead.
I took this problem to font-config list and got no answer there either:
https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/fontconfig/2018-October/006341.html
In the past, enabling bitmap is as easy as linking 70-force-bitmaps.conf in /etc/fonts/conf.d while removing any references to 70-no-bitmaps.conf
Since 18.04 however, this would not give the user...
Using 17.04. The wizard would fail - both the bluetooth applet shipped and blueman wizard would fail the same way.
1. Detected Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse
2. Set the mouse to pairing mode (with...
It works for me. Evidence:

Lenovo N700 mouse have a smart design: it has a Windows key on it. I constantly trip over it and have HUD over my face. It also randomly produce letter c, so c my ctext looks cpretty cmuch like this...
You mapped to USB the USB device itself, not the device that is connected with USB, since one USB product with one vender + one ID can have multiple devices under it - e.g. my N700 mouse (with a...
Two things happened. First, I found that my keyboard POKER II from VORTEX is programmable, so I programmed the two keys to work as each other, hence no longer need to run the xmodmap.
Regarding to...
Advanced search does not work for me - I tried to search for "xorg.conf ButtonMapping", and I get this:
You don't have permission to access /search.php on this server.

Done. Thought that they are the same.
I have this:
$ cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/00-mouse-remap.conf
Section "InputClass"
Identifier "Bluetooth Mouse left-handed"
MatchIsPointer "on"
MatchProduct "Lenovo Mice N700"...
It turns out that the rule which works is this:
SUBSYSTEM=="input", SUBSYSTEMS=="input", ATTRS{name}=="Lenovo Mice N700", SYMLINK+="N700"
Reason: the rule should only match one parent,...

I can't answer both - in the year, I moved to Ubuntu 16.10 and lost my Microsoft mouse. I also couldn't recall how I associate this behaviour with the missing default PIN.
The file is /usr/share/gnome-bluetooth/pin-code-database.xml - I mentioned it in the original post but forgot to do so again in the solution.
I have modified /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/us but the changes are not taking effect. In the previous versions, I would remove /var/lib/xkb/*.xkm and reboot, then it would work. But with Ubuntu 16.04...
Hi. For the last 10 years I never managed to keep a bluetooth device connected with any linux, from Ubuntu to SuSE. Usually it's frequent disconnet that troubles me, but this time (with a new...
In my case:
$ sudo LANG=en_US aplay -l
aplay: device_list:268: no soundcards found...
In my case, alsa force-reload (as root) doesn't make any difference, still no soundcards.
The solution is two fold. 1) add the following to
<device oui="28:18:78" type="moouse" name="Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse" pin="0000"/>
2. When it doesn't reconnect, don't first rework on...
Same problem on T100 ASUS here. Strange enough, although Windows sounds ok, and list a Intel SST Audio Device, which I assume same as yours 'cos of sst keyword, lspci and lsusb doesn't show any audio...
There seems to be two major bluetooth reconnection problems in Ubuntu. One is caused by upowerd, and can be solved by killing upowerd before enabling bluetooth. The other would require user to click...
I've tried to get crystal hd working on my netbook for four (4) years with no luck - this post is my latest renewed effort on 14.04. I've pretty much given up, and just watch non hi-def videos on it....
Your temperature information seem to be okay, unlike the other post http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1942550 (to which I wished to comment on how the correct one should look like had it not...
