I did it some months ago (and forced my wife to do so too ;)). I still have a virtualbox with w2k inside but I never open it...
The only dark point is that now that I'm using Ubuntu, I have a...
definitively, Lexmark printers... I've an all-in-one brand new lexmark printer whose purpose is just occupying space...
For that part... :-k
I disagree, there's a lot of much better things to learn.
For the rest, big up
You have the live CD, or a virtualBox(or vmware) with Ubuntu inside. The first solution is the easiest but you can't save your changes between 2 sessions. The second seems a bit more complicated and...
as its name tells, it's an alpha... So not trustable so using something else (or wait for a stable release) is the best solution up to me.
Maybe you can try one in this list :

1) Gutsy [7.10] (I didn't try any other)
2) The main parts of my Acer Aspire 7220 are working but I still have to configure some others :
The video card is a geforce 7000M

For each new release, try the live CD and choose the one you prefer ! It's os easy to switch from one to another...
Personnaly I prefer Gnome because it's a little bit less messy but it's just a...
First because it's much much faster, doesn't "eat" all the cpu time... Second because it's collaborative, when I have a problem (or a solution) I can have the solution (or solve the problem) very...
iccchhi... I didn't know (it's rare that I want to feel like I'm in IE :D).
To test your websites with the IE engine, you can use the firefox-extension called "IETab" too. It works pretty well.

Anyway, you can develop all that using a basic text editor too.
Up to me, the best way to do is to use a basic text editor (with syntax coloring). I guess it's the only way to control completely what is done. personnaly, I go for vim with some home made macros to...
:D :D :D
True, I didn't even notice !
Great, I learnt something today ;)
just because I'm curious : what's this language ?
Note that even if you don't plan now do make your CD work on a windows platform you may want to do it in the future, so add a little autorun.inf on it... It's simple and avoid further complications...
My wife that I consider as a basic user (she doesn't even know what the cd command is) works better on Ubuntu than on Windows (I had a 2K pro) ; as she tell : it's much faster, and much more...
Here's the translation :

Here's the informations needed to install VMware Server 1.04 and it's admin UI (MUI) on Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon....
...a bit of all :
it's free
it's muuuuuuch more reliable
it has no virus
for (almost) every problem there's a solution on the forum
it's more cute ;)
...
I had exactyl the same problem and fixed it usingthis very good article, you need to uninstall it first but considering that it doesn't kill your virtual machines, there's no problem.
...
A much better answer ;)
