BUMP!
Anyone able to help?
Hi all, I would appreciate any help I can get with this problem. I have been using Xubuntu 12.04 for some weeks with no problems at all. Then yesterday I booted up and the WIFI did not connect and...
I intend to stick with 10.04 on my main machine for now, but when time comes to upgrade I will be going with xfce.
Gnome 3 and Unity seem to me to be the exact opposite of what I want from a UI. ...
I have a Motorola Defy and think it's brilliant. Far easier to use and more intuitive than the iPhone I use at work. (What is with Apple's one-button policy?)
Only downsides:

Will be sticking with 10.04 for a while yet. It's just too perfect. Will no doubt give 11.04 a test drive sometime, but see no real reason to change.
I think whoever invented daylight saving time got it backwards. Wouldn't it make more sense to have it in winter, so it's not dark when you finish work.
Or, alternatively, have it summer, but in...
Hey, some of us have a life outside of Ubuntu. I've tested every Alpha since 6.10, but my time is too valuable this year.
I stand by my experiences with Unity.
Honestly, if you mean will 11.04 make people who try it say "screw this!" and buy a Mac, then yes, I fear it will be the new Vista.
I haven't had time to try 11.04 yet, but have used Unity on...

Sorry to jump into the conversation late, but I just bought a 8.9" eeePC, so took UNR for a test run. Have to add my vote that Unity is unusable. Slow, clunky, poorly thought out UI.

Moved out at 17. University was 500km from home, too far to commute :). Had next to nothing saved up, lived on government support (still paying back).

Odd. I also updated today, and the flash files are in /tmp as usual.
Actually, there are thousands, nay, hundreds of thousands of companies to blame, as well as thousands of schools, governments, universities, and above all, the ISO.
Lol, this won't help me...
Whoops, fixed now, thanks for spotting that.
Right now I am completely blown away by two things. Firstly, just how good the Softmaker Office word processor, Textmaker, is, and secondly, that I have never heard of it before.
I have been...
OK, thanks for that. It's not a big issue, just wanted to make sure I hadn't hosed my system. (Been doing some fiddling :))
Thanks.
Yeah, I tried that too, but got the same result as I did in the Firefox pop-up.
EDIT: Am installing VLC now, and will try to set that as my default instead of Totem.
I used to run a P3 900Mhz 512MB, and it worked fine except that Rhythmbox would be a bit jerky if I was doing anything else CPU intensive.
Oh, and ripping CDs slowed everything down.
SOLVED
I am trying to get a Quicktime based web page to work on my Lucid PC running Firefox and the usual restricted extras. Could a few of you check the page and let me know if it fails for...
Big Bang Theory is a comedy? I didn't hear anyone laughing.
Seriously though, IT Crowd is awesome. Moss is one of the greatest comedy characters ever.
If so, then it's a bloody short series. We need more Dr Who. MORE, I says!
And yes, I do have access to them earlier, but want to spread out the fun.
Dudes, please put a spoiler warning in the OP! I already read more than I wanted to. We are several months behind down here.
