    Re: Bug in YouTube?

uBlock Origin can be installed as an extension from the Chrome/Chromium Webstore or from Firefox Add-ons.

There are also packages in the Ubuntu repositories but unfortunately they don't seem to be...

[ubuntu] Re: cairo-clock in Ubuntu 19.04

cairo-clock was removed from Ubuntu 18.04 in March 2018, i.e. during its development period, as it had already been removed from Debian. The package hadn't been updated for years so any 'deb' that...

    Re: Wine on 19.10

Is this installing WINE from the repositories or elsewhere?

The latest WINE release seems to be version 4.12.1 but eoan has version 4.0 so dependency problems may occur if you're not installing...

    Re: LTS version most unstable

    Which LTS, 16.04 or 18.04?

    Which flavour of Ubuntu?

I don't see a problem here with either Ubuntu 18.04 or Xubuntu 18.04. Yes I get updates, stable release updates and security updates but I...

[SOLVED] Re: LIve DVD Login & Password????

I've no idea why that is happening. It's not something that I've ever seen.

I've just booted into an Ubuntu MATE live session and checked both the GUI log-in and tty log-in. The user-name is...

[SOLVED] Re: LIve DVD Login & Password????

I think you must have logged out which is why you're being asked for a password to log back in.

As far as I know the user-name is ubuntu-mate. There is no password.

    Hope that helps.

    Re: Ubuntu 18.04 Firefox 68

Confirmation that the bug is in GNOME Flashback and not Firefox:

Focusing on password field in Firefox causes ibus indicator to flicker

    Re: Ubuntu 18.04 Firefox 68

    Possibly.

When Firefox previously suffered from this problem (bug #1765304) the fix was applied to GNOME Shell.

I don't know how far you went into the bug report but one of the linked reports suggested copying and pasting usernames and passwords from another application.

Maybe type into gedit and paste...

    Re: Ubuntu 18.04 Firefox 68

No problems here but take a look at this bug report:

Ubuntu 18.04's ibus package breaks password fields in Firefox again

    Is that what you're seeing?

    Re: GDM3 starting weird desktop

I don't think Unity has been installed but you are seeing a slightly different looking GNOME Shell when not logging in in the conventional way.

What you describe is what I see when first starting...

Re: So we have snaps now?

In the current development release (19.10), yes that is true. Other releases to follow once a few minor issues have been resolved.

    Re: chromium fails to load

I've haven't had any problems here at all.

Since the initial install/transition I've had an auto-update from version 75.0.3770.90 to 75.0.3770.100, I've also switched from the stable channel to...
  15. [SOLVED] Re: Upgrade - remove obsolete packages - what to do now?

The list of obsolete packages is being displayed using the 'less' utility.

If you haven't worked it out already type q, Q or ZZ to quit and return to the upgrade process.
  16. [SOLVED] Re: Thunderbird has no access to usr/bin and can't open attachments as a result

Nice to hear that you've got Thunderbird working now. Today I read elsewhere that the snap version of Thunderbird is going to be updated and made stable so some of the problems that you encountered...
  17. [server] Re: Is there a sense to upgrade server 14.04.4 LTS to 16.04 LTS or even to 18.04 LTS

Just to clarify, as far as these forums are concerned Ubuntu 18.04 is supported for just five years.

For further support of up to ten years a paid subscription to ESM as per the Releases wiki page...
  18. [SOLVED] Re: Thunderbird has no access to usr/bin and can't open attachments as a result

Quoting from this post on the Snapcraft forum probably explains what happened if Thunderbird was installed from GNOME Software:

There isn't currently a stable snap of Thunderbird.

    All releases...
  19. [ubuntu] Re: Landscape reports I have no license but I have 17 subscription left

Sorry but we can't help you with your problem here as extended support (ESM) is a paid-for service for which you should contact Canonical directly using whatever means of communication they have made...

[ubuntu] Re: Updating Stellarium Snap Package?

Yes, snaps automatically update. I've read somewhere that the default is that a check for updates is made four times each day.

You can force a refresh of all snaps with the command

    sudo snap...
