    Mint 17.3 is EOL as it was based on Ubuntu 14.04. Only Mint 18.? and Mint 19.? are supported now

    Switch off RAID and try Windows, it might need to make some adjustments, make backups of Windows. That model has Intel Optane.

    Yes, it should be in there somewhere especially if it has a small SSD or Intel Optane

    Any chance this HP is using RAID mode and not AHCI. I am not sure if Ubuntu recognizes the BIOS RAID mode

    sudo sed -i 's/wifi.powersave = 3/wifi.powersave = 2/' /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/default-wifi-powersave-on.conf
    systemctl restart network-manager.service
    Fixes the disconnects

    sudo apt remove bcmwl-kernel-source
    reboot and go into UEFI/BIOS settings and disable Secure Boot, leave any Secure Boot keys alone.

    I could wire up a normal outlet on 220V in the garage and plug my old desktop computer in, grab a fire extinguisher and press the power button
