Ok i've checked the drivers and it says its running the intel drivers but i still cannot get the menu bars to take the full screen.

Yeah they are both expanded, I think it's to do with the drivers for my graphics card.

When I get home i'll find info about the X3100 drivers, I have had this working on my previous installation...
