Ubuntu 13.04
Yes I suppose technically it is out of support however it still does the job and I do get periodic updates so there still must be some support happening.
So it seems like the process is still the same.
Thanks
Sorry to not be here to frequently however things just always work so well. I'm still dual booting 10.04 & Win XP. My laptop is just to old and feeble for any of the newer versions. The lappy is now...
This doesn't answer my question. My computer will not run anything above 10.04.
How about an answer to my question?
What's thee trick to getting Flash working on 10.04.
Thanks.

Netgear 7550

Is there a similar product for use in Ubuntu?
I used to be invisible with dial-up and with DSL I'm not. Just wondering why. Can I become invisible?
I'm having the same issue even after installing those packages. I turned off the firewall, popup blocker, no script and add block with no success. I'm using 10.04

I just moved from a dialup connection to DSL from Frontier. I have a NetGear 7550 router. When I ran GRC with dialup everything was STEALTH. Now I get that port 20,21 & 500 are visible but blocked....
OK I misinterpreted what was said or it's been reworded in about:config. You need to set: network-manage offline status to False not true.
Sure I'm connected. This just started with the v 20.0 update.I suppose it could be some new FF thing that thinks I'm not on line because of the slow connection.
Ubuntu 10.04 dialup connection. Since the update 2 days ago Firefox now cobstantly opens in "offline mode". I went to about:config and it's set for online yet opens offline. Any ideas? Thanks
Yea you're probably right. I guess upgrades do not always go as planned and most folks do fresh installs.
Thanks.
I keep the old computer right up to date. This is my plan.
1. Install 10.04 on the new computer
2. Get all the updates
2a. Install TB
3. Migrate the Home folder
It should go OK as I use...
Time for a new Internet only laptop. The one I'm using now has Ubuntu 10.04 on it.Once I get back to were I was I want to upgrade to the latest LTS. I haven't loaded any extra software at all on...
Someone must have an idea. I tried googling and it appears that this sometimes happens at startup but can't find it at shutdown. More testing shows that it only happens if I've been using Firefox....
10.04

After clicking on the shut down button a small window flashes by. I can't see what it says. Anyone know what this may be? I tried to screen capture it. It's a maybe 2"x4" graphical screen.
