[other] Re: System76 bonx6 BIOS screenshots

Thanks, it does show up when I fully boot the system. The system is out of warranty. I opened the monitor and disconnected the LVDS cable, and now the laptop uses the external display right from boot.

    [other] System76 bonx6 BIOS screenshots

Hi, can someone please post pics of the BIOS screens (settings, boot choices, etc.) for the Bonobo x6 (or direct me to where they can be found)? My monitor is not working and I'm looking for some way...
  3. [ubuntu] Using polkit restrictions with secondary group

Hi, I'm trying to restrict shutdown powers using instructions from http://askubuntu.com/a/454230/158442.
I used group based restrictions (unix-group:*) to disable shutdown.
    To enable shutdown,...

[SOLVED] Re: IBUS input method in 14.04

I'd just like to add that, for the same issue, I had to restart X to get the languages to show up in ibus-setup. Then, after adding the language in ibus-setup, I had to do so again in the Input...

[all variants] Re: Battery life on the Bonobo

Yes, but what is the nature of the block? How does System76 prevent utilization of the integrated card? Are you saying that the motherboard doesn't support it? No hack, software or hardware, can...

[all variants] Battery life on the Bonobo

I was under the impression that Optimus allows us to switch between an integrated gfx card and a discrete one. I read somewhere that the Core i* processors have an "integrated" graphics card with...
  7. Re: Can you add a 2nd GeForce for SLI in Bonobo Extreme?

That would be great! I was a tiny bit jealous of a friend's Lenovo Y500, which has support for an add-on graphics card. Sadly, I doubt this is something they would officially support, right?
  8. [SOLVED] Re: Bonobo fingerprint reader not detected on 13.04

Yep. That update fixed things. I should have waited a couple of days. Thanks!
  9. [SOLVED] Bonobo fingerprint reader not detected on 13.04

I have a Bonobo Extreme, with Ubuntu 12.10 (the one which comes preinstalled), Windows 8 and Ubuntu 13.04 installed. 13.04 initially started from the beta, it was fully upgraded about ten days ago....
  10. Re: Which Windows for gaming on System76 Bonobo laptop?

I have installed Windows 8, and so far have had no problems using it. Mine is the base config. I have tried playing Hitman: Absolution, Assassin's Creed III, L.A. Noire, Spec-Ops and a few other...

[ubuntu] Re: 11.10 Can't Create An Ad Hoc Network

Using 4313 myself, and blacklisting the open source drivers didn't help. I'm not blaming Ubuntu developers. In fact I don't think it's their fault at all. We see this everytime with new hardware....

    [ubuntu] Re: DSL Over Wireless

If you're still around, perhaps you could try this (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=11566294&postcount=2).
  13. [ubuntu] Re: dsl connection only with cable but not with wireless

I'm afraid you'll have to go to the command line for this. I'm in India, and my ISP, BSNL, also provides a wi-fi-capable DSL modem. I had to do two things to get my net connection to work through...
