Re: Penumbra: Black Plague Linux version released

Can you get far in Penumbra:Overture without killing anything ? I heard the developers didn't really mean you to kill everything. I know you can sometimes set traps and use explosives, but is the...

Re: Penumbra: Black Plague Linux version released

Not anymore. Sorry, I meant Black Plague. I edited my previous post.

You're in for a surprise. I'm pretty far in Penumbra: Black Plague and I only managed to kill 1 creature.

Re: Penumbra: Black Plague Linux version released

What do you mean ? There's not a single gun in Penumbra: Black Plague. There are no melee weapons either. In most cases you just can't kill the enemies.

Re: I apparently have no concept of "fun"...

What makes you think it's a problem ? As long as you don't feel lonely, have some friends, and don't get labeled as a freak, sociopath, boring - everything is ok. Be careful, though. Some people may...

    Re: Angry linux gamer

Long story short: there's no decent Linux MMORPG game. You can emulate WOW using Wine, but that's it. No native MMORPGS.

    No decent RTS games.

The last decent RPG game is Neverwinter Nights.

Re: Major Upcoming Games - Linux Support?

    Once again we're stuck with FPS games. Let's count... um, 2 ? 3 ?

In theory, yes, in practice - not quite. Bioshock is UE3 engine game, but even demo contains Securom consumer prevention...

Poll: Re: Why do all Linux OS presume the user can program?

Wrong question. Linux was never Windows. If all you want is free Windows, you might want to look somewhere else.

Poll: Re: What's the main reason you use Firefox?

I really, really like Konqueror. It's lightweight (like Firefox used to be), and feels much more Linux-y. Incremental search by pressing /, just like in less or man commands. I can type

I also like 2nd one the most. First is just some random symbol. Third looks like you have to turn the mug around to read it and see the logo. 2nd is optimal.
  24. Re: Game time for Apple Macs - Maybe Linux is next?

What else can they use ? There was DirectX for Mac a couple of years ago, but Microsoft pulled out. Just like they did with Internet Exploder for Mac.
  25. Re: Game time for Apple Macs - Maybe Linux is next?
