    Try to install Ubuntu 10.10 first and then upgrade to 11.04, that worked for me.

    I had problem with freezes if ethernet cable is unplugged with Aspire One 522, so I had to disable ethernet driver...

    I find XFCE + GTK apps way better on smaller resolutions than a Gnome setup. Of course XFCE isn't as space effective as some of the bare window managers, but it's not bad.
