I really like those transparent windows; they're definitely the best I've ever seen.
How well does it work? Last time I tried it Plasma was wonky. I love KDE but need Photoshop (and Illustrator, and After Effects, and sadly Office); if this is stable I'd be so happy.
...and since...
So basically they're adding RGBA support? I hope it looks nothing like that screenshot. That's kinda over-powering.
Some PDF readers have browser add-on components that open them inside the browser... the file is still stored in a temp folder, though. I know Foxit and the Adobe reader do this (on Windows), I can't...
KDE is a million times more customizable... Windows 7 is more stable last I checked, though... which would have been like alpha 6 of Kubuntu Karmic.

I'm posting this so you can see how...
Basically, Adobe Production Premium...
Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and SoundBooth (I hardly ever use Flash). Mostly Photoshop, though...
Yes, I've tried GIMP. Yes,...
Personally I find that both options are pretty pathetic compared to the raw power of Linux on a toaster oven.
On a more serious note... Desktops are a tiny bit better, because if something doesn't...
That almost looks like it could be the map editor... which would be funny. I don't think it's Ubuntu, though.
You could always setup your own XMPP network. I did that once, it was fun... but probably overkill.
Sony Vegas Pro 9 is a bit expensive, but it's really good. After Effects and Premiere Pro are the next step up when it comes to... uh... advancedness (I know that's not a word).
Unfortunately,...
I may have to give this a try now that Dragonfly supports CSS editing (or so I read). Firefox is just so clunky anymore... on any OS. :(
This tutorial might be a bit basic for you, but the guy who did it has a lot of other great tutorials.

Droid and Liberation are great open source fonts. I always use Droid Sans for all my fonts in Linux (except console fonts, I use Droid Mono there).
Otherwise just about any fonts should work with...
Thanks for the info. How well do you find the dark theme works for you? I usually find that Firefox keeps me from using a dark theme.
Here's my desktop (using PlayWolf now)....
Someone has probably asked you this before, but I can't find it... what are you using to display NowPlaying on your desktop and in your panel?
Thanks.
I beta test 7 because Vista is so bad. I need to have a version of Windows on my laptop. I don't want to buy XP. I don't like Vista... 7 is the perfect solution. I may switch back to Vista when my...

I've seen lots of these "end of the road for *" threads, and they've inspired some very interesting conversation. I'm thinking, though, that eventually we'll run out of things which are actually...
I'd recommend giving CrunchBang (or Xubuntu) a try. You've just about got the resources to run regular old Ubuntu fairly well.
If you're going CLI only I recommend OpenSUSE. You can use screens with it (it's probably in the repos, I don't know, though), and it's got an amazing configuration manager for the command line...
It is actually less efficient on digital displays. I hope they had fun making it.
I never really understood the need for the screen. I might use the macro keys, though.
That's not a keyboard. I mean, yeah... it functions as a keyboard. They need a new name for it, though. It has too many functions to just be a keyboard.
