At what speed did you burned it?, more than 4x will make the disc unplayable on certain DVD players.
Primary, I would burn the disc @ 4x.
Also you can try DVD-R media.

I have a Canon Pixma IP4700 and I need to be able to print over printable media (CDs and DVDs). I have tried the native driver, the canon website driver and also the turboprint driver still no go....
DeVeDe uses Mencoder, maybe trying to install it from their SVN?
