You changed your password on the remote machine during the ssh session. If you have physical access to that machine, you'll see that you can log in to the "GUI" just fine.

One more thing:

I actually moved the bin file to /usr/lib/jvm/ to make sure it installs the right location. It first extracted everything under Downloads/ the first time I tried.
