[ubuntu] Re: can't login, keeps going back to login screen

Just had exactly the same problem on 10.04 LTS

Fixed it by removing the file gpg-agent-info-<MachineName> in /home/<user>/.gnupg

    e.g.

    ~/.gnupg$ mv gpg-agent-info-<MachineName>...

    Re: Where did QGIS go?

To clarify, if I do a wget on the Packages.gz archive then that works however it does not unzip correctly on my machine. So perhaps it is a problem with that file?

(or it could still be a problem...

    Re: Where did QGIS go?

    Many thanks for this.

I have added the following line to the end of my /etc/apt/sources.list:

    deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/qgis/ubuntu hardy main

However, when I fetch updates with...

    Re: Official Ubuntu Book

I need to add to this (above).

Okay, so you may be able to publish your work elsewhere under the terms of the Creative Commons licence, but you may not be able to derive other works from it. So if...

    Re: Official Ubuntu Book

This is a very important point. I used to work for a computer book publisher. When you assign 'exclusive rights', they are exactly that - exclusive.

You won't be able to republish that same work...

Re: Recommended programming language for newbies?

I expect defkewl meant that Python is a dynamically typed language (ie the types are determined at runtime (or is it compilation time - who knows? ). I would agree that this is possibly a...

I visited Malaysia and Indonesia a few years ago, and learnt a few words - you've already had most of them :-)

    Selamat pagi,
    Ada Ubuntu?

I only know a few words but I really like the way you double words to make plurals - eg. anak-anak

    Re: Junior Member ?

But surely 'Expert Member' potentially has the same problem (assuming the titles are linked only to post count)?

As for "junior member"... it's enough to give you an inferiority complex... Why not...

    Bluefish - python reference?

Re: Linux vs. windows on older hardware

I'm running Ubuntu on a PIII 600 with 256mb Ram.

It ran Win98 ok (for a while - it got progressively slower as it got clogged up with stuff). Suse 9.2 runs like a dog (a slow dog... ) whereas...
