[ubuntu] Re: Change default media player?

Feel moved to create a bug on Launchpad for it? I had the same problem. Editing clementine.desktop fixed it for me - thanks for the help, all.

[ubuntu] Re: Reducing writes to SSD

Oh, okay, that's comforting. I'm likely to buy an SSD in the next day or two. It's good to know that with noatime and tmpfs, Ubuntu can be reasonably efficient with them.

    [ubuntu] Re: LiveCD 9.04 username/password?

This is happening for me, now, with the Ubuntu 9.10 live CD. It didn't happen for my laptop, but it does for my desktop. It's frustrating as hell.

    [ubuntu] Re: xgalax driver problem

    [ubuntu] Re: xgalax driver problem

I'm about to try this out, I just bought one of these, and a note - they have newer (beta) drivers published in May, newer than the one you linked to in the original post.

[ubuntu] Re: Cannot Connect with Linksys WUSB54GC

I'm on a Dell XPS desktop from 2005, and I can't get my WUSB54GC v3 to work out of the box at all. I ndiswrapper-ized the included XP drivers and everything. I tried connecting to a "Hidden Wireless...

  9. [ubuntu] Re: My Session Preferences Window Has No Current Session Tab

I'm on 8.10, and I'm missing the Current Session tab, too. I wish I had it, because it seems to be the only good way to remove the top panel in GNOME.

    [ubuntu] Re: 8.04 won't boot

This is, leaving out false starts, the process that worked for me:

1.) Install OS X on entire disk.
2.) Use Boot Camp Assistant to partition drive, making most of the drive empty space for Linux....

    [ubuntu] Re: 8.04 won't boot

OK, so, after I installed again, and resynced my GPT table to my MBR table with rEFIt, I still hung on the tux.

I saw on another thread that I might have better luck by bypassing rEFIt, and...
