Re: Ubuntu Trending on Google +

Forgive my ignorance, but hasn't Chrome already been doing this for ages?

(Not sure how well it works in Ubuntu, haven't used it in a long time)

Re: If Microsoft released Office for Linux

If it were done a few years ago, I'd happily shell out the same asking price as the Windows version for Word, Excel, Outlook and Access -- these days though, Google Drive does most everything I need...

    Re: Jolly July Screenshots

After some considerable editing I've come up with a successful mimic of the Zune player across all applications! (though Notepad is more of a container/hack than anything)...

    Re: Why the Linux hate?

I've never really heard any disdain for Linux as a server base. It's well-regarded on that front, it's mostly the desktop that seems to get all the criticism -- and most of that, from what I see, is...

    Re: Natty undercooked?

    First thoughts using Natty:

1: Oh my god this is utterly hideous.

2: Where are all the options, and what happened to 'Places'?

    3: Where's the menu bar?

Initial tests confused the hell out...

    Re: Disrespectful slang

Damn, and here I thought people just used desktop Linux because it's actually good! How silly of me.

    Re: Ubuntu 11.4 Ad

Not bad. Unsure about the font choice for the app names, 'Banshee' is spelled wrong and the colour scheme reminds me more of Ubuntu Studio. Really cool background though.

    Re: Banshee on Windows

Acually, decent media players is something that Windows rather has a tendency to lack. There's a lot of them out there, but the vast majority of them are really awful. About the only ones that are...

Re: Firefox 4 with real tabs on Linux?

Changing tabs by clicking them is for noobs anyway, real men use ctrl-tab or mouse gestures.

EDIT: Oh wait this thread is 6 months old.
  16. Re: Windows 8 Aero = Auto-Colorzation of Windows

I'm waiting to see what they actually come up with in terms of visual style before I say what I think of this or that new feature with regards to customisation. I doubt they'll be sticking with the...

Re: Do you feel safe on Facebook?

I generally am fine with it. I don't post information about myself I don't want others to know to the internet, be it Facebook or any other website -- that's just common sense.
  18. Re: Opinions on GNOME 3 from those who've tried it

I haven't had the best chance to test it at length (Fedora alpha kept freezign on me) but my initial impression is good. It feels very nice to use and is a huge step-up in presentation from GNOME 2....
  19. Re: This guy has some "serious" concerns over Linux

Frankly I think the guy makes a hell of a lot of valid points. I haven't seen a single proper rebuttal to any of them in this thread, just a lot of knee-jerk, "la la la I'm not listening" reactions....

Re: Mac Pro or Fast PC with Ubuntu?

After having used both Macs and PCs (for lack of a better term) I can say Macs have advantages in the following areas:

    Style
    Trendiness

Other makes have advantages in the following areas:
