Yes, reloaded rtl8723ae and it works as expected. (honestly I have reloaded and unloaded it last night many times too but it didnt work........... plus lots of restarting / shutdown...

In order to provide you with the most updated output as above, I removed the driver, ie sudo modprobe -r rtl8723ae
then set it back, ie sudo modprobe rtl8723ae

Then the wireless is...
